CONCLUSõES
Em resumo, concluímos que o MUST reflecte accurately o
estado nutricional do doente com tumor da cabeça e do
pescoço, com um risco global de desnutrição que se aproxima
dos 30% (tal como demonstrado neste estudo). Ao relacionar
os parâmetros nutricionais e o desenrolar do período pós-
operatório foi demonstrado que o risco global de desnutrição
prediz a ocorrência de complicações pós-operatórias.
Os achados deste estudo podem contribuir para futuras
estratégias cirúrgicas. Para tal, estudos adicionais serão
necessários para investigar se é possível contrariar os efeitos
secundários da desnutrição nas complicações pós-operatórias
através da instituição de suporte nutricional pré-operatório.
